Sealing Stone Surfaces to protect your investment

Have you invested in the most beautiful stone surfaces for your home?

Sealing stone surfaces protects them from damage and deterioration. Our skilled technicians have over 10 years’ experience and will deliver superior protection and prompt service

Seal Your Precious Stone to Preserve its Longevity

Whether you’ve just completed a new home or renovated an existing property, chances are you’ve installed beautiful stone benchtops. You may also have added stone flooring, bathroom vanities, bathroom tiles, a water feature, feature wall or have a stone tabletop in your dining area. As beautiful as stone looks when it’s new, it is very sensitive to staining or damage from various products such as salt, minerals, pool chemicals, cooking oil, drinks, food colouring, makeup, hair dyes and soap products.

To ensure your surfaces are hard-wearing and stain resistant, they must be sealed as soon as possible after being installed. Sealing reduces the need for constant cleaning, preventing spills from damaging your precious stone. By sealing stone with a high-quality sealer, you’re assured of supreme protection for your natural stone surface, so it continues to look like new, now and in the future.

Did You Know? Stone is Porous!

Every natural stone is porous, some more than others. In fact, stone is among the most porous materials. Limestone for example, is highly porous, whereas Quartz is considered to have much lower porosity. If you choose a stone that is highly porous, there’s a greater chance of it being damaged by various types of liquids or products used in everyday living in most households.

Stone is also susceptible to damage inflicted by water, which can dissolve away parts of the stone. For example, marble contains high levels of calcium, which dissolves in water, causing real damage to your stone surfaces.

Of course, stone installed near a pool, water feature or sink is particularly susceptible to this type of damage. We can even protect sandstone with a specific consolidator which hardens the delicate stone to reduce the wear and tear factor and minimise water damage.

Quality Professional Sealants Applied by Experienced Technicians

At 1st Choice Fix, we specialise in sealing stone to protect your pristine surfaces and keep them looking good. Our experienced team will visit your home or investment property and apply a professional sealant to protect your stone surfaces in one visit. Backed by our comprehensive experience, we know the options available to protect your investment and can recommend the best product for your particular stone.

Dry-Treat Sealants have a range of products to suit any type of stone and its environment.

They are the market leaders in deep, penetrative sealants including wet look, stainproof, intensifier, consolidator and water-based options for specific types of stone. Dry Treat provides a 3 to 25 year warranty on all their products.

We often use Dry-Treat Stain Proof Premium Impregnating Sealer that provides an invisible and breathable seal for premium, long-term protection on all your natural stone surfaces.

For marble and granite, we use the specially formulated Dry-Treat Stain Proof Dense Stone Impregnating Sealer, that makes your sealed natural stone surfaces easier to clean and maintain. In addition, we can offer Dry-Treat Stain Proof Premium Waterborne Impregnating Sealer for inherently soft stone which is prone to damage from water or the chemicals used in cleaning with minimal odour during application.

We also use Lithofin in some cases and ChemForce in others

We will carefully assess your individual situation and needs to ensure the best protection for the stone that is being sealed.
